Bio
Olivia Barnes is an independent singer-songwriter based in New Orleans, Louisiana. She began writing songs at 8-years-old and started playing guitar in high school when she bought her first Yamaha with a stack of birthday money at 17. Olivia grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with parents who hailed from Athens, Georgia- two college students who lived in the epicenter of a vibrant music scene in the 90s. Her parents passed their music taste down to Olivia, who grew up with the sounds of R.E.M, Sheryl Crow, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers filling the house. Her honest, witty lyrics combined with anthemic melodies and rootsy instrumentals make her music nostalgic yet relatable, lighthearted yet deeply thoughtful and connects with audiences across the country.
